EHR software is designed to digitally collect and store all information pertaining to a patient’s medical record and history such as patient profile, demographics, diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, laboratory and test results, radiology images, allergies, immunization dates, and more.

Also often called electronic medical records (EMR), EHR software facilitates a paperless system where patient information can be stored at multiple locations and shared to all providers involved in a patient’s care. This allows EHR data to be created and managed by more than one doctor, or health care organization.
